Zoology Department at a Glance:

Department of Zoology was established in 1998. At present two faculty members are working in the department, Ms. Prajakta Dhage (HOD & Assistant Professor), and Mr. A.R. Handore (Assistant Professor). Zoology department is well equipped laboratories with sophisticated instruments like Stereoscopic microscope, research microscope, Electric Oven, Remi Centrifuge machine, Insect display cabinet, Weighing Balance and a good number of  zoological specimens. Faculty of the department is NET/ SET qualified. Presently 2 faculty Ms. Prajakta Dhage and Mr. A.R. Handore are pursuing their Ph.D. from Zoology Research Center affiliating to SPPU, Pune.

Department of Zoology has three functional MoU’s with reputed organization as Paul Hebert Centre for DNA Barcoding and Biodiversity Studies, BAMU, Aranyani Bio-conservation Society, Nashik and AREAS Foundation, Niphad, Nashik. All the faculty members of the department are actively involved in Research activities and their thrust area of Research are Biodiversity, Taxonomy, Conservation Biology, DNA barcoding, Histopathology etc. Till date more than 14 Research papers were published by faculty members in reputed International Journals and have authored total 13 Text books of Zoology. Faculties of the department regularly present their research work in various national and international conferences.
