Sparrow Conservation: Bird Nests from Waste ·   Sparrow Conservation

·   To increase house sparrow population

·   Recycling waste to generate bird nests

·

·   Conservation of human commensal bird of great economic importance to agriculture

·   Control of insect larval pests from sparrow as bio-controlling agent in the campus

·   Installed total 19 permanent sparrow nests by recycling wooden microscope boxes

·   Students are encourage to prepare bird nests, waterer and feeder from the available recyclable waste and are installed in college campus

·   Lectures arranged each year on topic Sparrow Conservation on World Sparrow Day (20 March)

·   All the nest installed in the college campus are occupied by sparrow for their nesting & breeding

·   The increase in sparrow population is evident in the campus from chirping soothing sound

·   Gain in students interest about local birds and their economic importance

Zoologist Expression Wall ·   Inculcate reading and writing habit among students

·   To encourage zoology students to write articles

·   To promote students to share their thoughts

·   Unique observations about animals can be share

·   Special adaptations or behaviour of animals will be highlighted

·

·   Students are encourage to prepare informative posters about various animals to put on expression wall

·   Students are encourage to write article or poem related to Zoology and publicize on expression wall

·   Teachers and students shares their research or article

 

·   Students were shown interest towards the zoology subject

·   It was noticed that students began to read or search additional information about the animal taxa taught in the syllabus and share data through expression wall

·   Students were starting submitting small article written by themselves or gathers from newspaper cutting or magazines
